Chris Pyle
Professional Rodeo & Bull Riding Announcer

Chris has been involved in rodeo and bull riding for most of his life. His grandfather took him to his first rodeo as an 11 year old and after entering to compete in the junior bareback and bull riding he was hooked. From there, Chris went on to claim three Missouri State High School bull riding championships and along the way earned two top fifteen finishes in the nation at the high school level. The early success allowed Chris to earn a scholarship to compete on a college team to further his education and continue to pursue his love of bull riding. Many people consider bull riding the most dangerous sport in the world. Chris was not exempt from this danger, after 15 years of riding, and reaching the professional level it was the injuries that finally took a toll. While recovering from one injury that required surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff a friend asked him to step in and announce a bull riding event. Following that night Chris realized this was a perfect way to be involved in a sport that he loved and decided he would continue to ride and develop his announcing skills. With time the focus shifted to announcing. Since then Chris has been blessed with 29 Finals Announcer and Announcer of the Year awards including 17 trips to the NFPB finals. He feels grateful to have been given these opportunities and was pleased to conclude the 2015 season as the Chris Shiver’s MBR World Finals Announcer during the PBR Finals in Las Vegas.
During the work week, Chris pursues another passion in education as the Special Services Director for the Sedalia School District #200. He also enjoys spending time with his wife Lisa, their daughter Kendall, and son Luke. Chris gives all praise to God, whom he realizes is the reason for his blessings.

A note from Chris: Thank you to all of the fans and sponsors that make Granite Falls possible. Granite is a very special place to have this much fun. My goal for every performance is to make sure you enjoy yourself while watching the best in the business compete in their respective events. Rodeo in my opinion is one of the greatest sporting events in the world. It doesn’t get any more challenging than what these men and women will face so they truly need our help. Let’s have a great time and cheer them on!
